Dance is more than just a physical activity - it's an art form that allows you to express yourself in ways you never thought possible and the last thing we want is for financial strain to get in your way.
Studio House Barrie offers full and half scholarships for each of our 8-12 Week Performance Session (Fall, Winter, Spring). The amount of sponsorships available depends on fundraising totals.

ANY ADULT (18+) can join us for any of our programming, drop-in classes, and/or full sessions. Our community and everything we offer is completely open & welcoming to all individuals of any gender, race, and background, as long as they are above the legal age limit
NO! We have classes for all levels of dance experience, ranging from Beginner, to Intermediate, to Advanced/Professional. Our stilettos program & drop ins offer many classes specifically for absolute beginners – and we mean no-dance experience-at-all beginners!
For any and all of our classes, wear clothes you can comfortably move and WORK OUT in. You can dress up and wear fishnets & booty shorts, or come in a t-shirt and yoga pants – anything that will not restrict your movement, and that will let you see how your body is moving (because the only way we can learn is if we can actually see what is going on!).
In terms of shoes, wear comfortable, CLEAN, indoor shoes. You can absolutely start in running shoes with no heel, but we will be working up to wearing black heels in our performances at the end of the session. Black boots with a low, thick heel are a great place for beginners to start, and then at your own pace you can work up to higher, thinner heels over time. For our intermediate and advanced classes, we do require you to be training up to a high stilettos heel.
All our drop-in classes follow this general format:
First, we will lead you through a warm-up and a quick workout to get the blood flowing! Then, we all put on our shoes, and the staff will break down some moves & general basics. Then, for the last section of class, your instructor will teach you a short (under one minute) routine. Finally, we finish class off with performing that routine in small groups, just for the other students in the class, and then we film one final big group video for us to post on Instagram. Participation in the small groups and final group video is entirely voluntary, but strongly encouraged!
Through our programming, we may ask you to take a big step outside of your comfort zone. To make sure that everyone feels safe & secure enough to grow, we have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for any bullying, harassment, or cattiness. All of our staff are there to ensure there is only love and support coming from every individual in the room. We welcome and embrace every human who walks through our doors unconditionally, and do not tolerate anything less from anyone who participates in our programming, inside or outside the studio.
